Hi

I have an amd 64bit 3800+
1gig of ram
BFG geforce 7300gs graphics card.

In counter strike source i seem to get 20fps on maps like de_dust, i'm not sure why. I have the latest nvidia drivers from the official site, and i have fps_max set to 100, and rates cl_cmdrate 100 etc etc...

any ideas why the fps is so poor?

it seems to vary on maps too, on one map I was on about 50fps until battle, but de_dust was around 20-30 the whole time. Im pretty sure it should be higher, as the recommended settings in CS were all set to high.

Also,
In team fortress classic the fps seems to be capped at 60fps, with fps_max uncapped... makes no sense

any ideas?

vsync is off,

res 1024 x 758 in CS, no AA, AF

although the graphics card is a budget one, my crap geforce go7500 or whatever it was I had on my laptop seemed to run CS:S better than this!

Its meant to average around 80fps with my setup, so I read on some benchmarking site

By turning everything down and playing in 8x6, I get good fps when everybody is stationary... when people start moving it drops rapidly!

now, im sure my framerate wasnt too bad on a crap geforce go5700 which I had on my laptop...

CS:S is a really old game now anyway! surely this should run it reasonably
