FPS War game

About a year ago I recall reading about a new game, which would (obviously according to their pr machine) be the ultimate first person war game.

Possibly WW2 based, but maybe not. I think it would allow thousands to fight battles all at once, but again that might not be so.

Any idea what his might be? It wasn't anything well known, COD, Battlefront etc.

The sequel to Op flashpoint, cant remember its name, not WWII but the 'thousands to fight in battles' sounds right

EDIT - Wiki says it was first released 2001? Is that correct? Doesn't sound like the game I read about, I believe it was still in development.

EDIT -I was confusing America's Army (free right?) and Armed Assault. Don't think it was Armed Assault though. I remember the press about the release of Armed Assault and seemed to recall this other game being a separate thing. I could be wrong though

Its not the official sequal but its made by the original team that did Op Flashpoint.

Isn't massive multiplayer necessarily, but it has like 200,000 soldiers potentially in battle.
