Sorry if i've posted this in the wrong forum, I was divided whether to post this here or in the PC Games forum.

I completed Crysis the other day and decided a couple of days ago to start again on a higher difficulty. I wondered what my FPS was like so I downloaded Fraps and was shocked to find that my average FPS was 26. I have a BFG Geforce 640MB 8800GTS card and I expected the FPS to be much higher than it is.

Here are the settings that i currently have on the Nvidia control panel:

All my graphics settings on Crysis are set to High by default, with no antialiasing selected. My resolution is set to 1440x900 (screen size).

I was just wondering whether anyone could recommend any action I can take to increase the FPS? Preferably without lowering the resolution or Crysis quality settings. I'd really appreciate the help.

Your FPS sounds about right for high settings, but you can get custom configs that give more fps without sacrificing graphics. Plenty have been posted in various threads on these forums.

By the way you can use the console command “r_displayinfo 1” to view FPS in game without needing Fraps.

Really? I was reading threads in a few game forums where people with 8800GTS claimed they were getting 40+ FPS. I just assumed they were playing with high settings like me.

Thanks for the FPS trick.
