Fractal Design Define R5 vs NZXT H440 for a first time build

I'm looking for a case for my x99 build.
Would an e-atx board, 26.4cm wide (2cm more than atx) fit in the R5, H440 or define S?
I fancy the R5 for the optical drive and fan controller.
Cheers

I'm interested in this as well for the H440, my board is also 26.4 wide. From what I have researched so far the Rampage IV Extreme which is 27.2 wide will not fit, but others report the Maximus V Formula which is 25.7 will fit.

Here's a follow up regarding the H440:

I found an interesting thread here: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/312684-would-your-say-this-is-safe/

If you follow the posts by the by the user "DIV1D3" he uses a 26.4cm board and says that it touches the grommets but it's not a big deal.

Also if you watch the video in the OP it shows how the larger Rampage fits, looks like 0.7cm would buy the space needed not to touch to me.

I've found other posts saying that the G1 Sniper 5 fits too.

Would be nice to find someone who has done it first hand, I'm curious if all the sata ports remain usable.

I have a Define R4 with 6 Corsair AF140 fans in it. Running them at 5v and the airflow isn't outstanding but it's utterly silent. I'd upgrade to an R5 but there isn't much point as the R4 is still an outstanding case.

They are very heavy though if that is an issue.

Ah i see thanks,

Is there anymore reasons you would choose it over the R5

Over the R5?

Would be the lack of optical drive cage meaning cooler air direct to cpu cooler. Both great cases though. I'd probably base it on looks. I also like the PSU shroud on the h440. Just makes the inside very clean.

Yes I have the new one and can confirm cooling better then r5. Build quality better as well. I own the r5, define s and new h440 and even as a huge fractal fan the new h440 would be my top pick by far.
Is the H440 as quiet as the fractals?
I prefer it's roof mounting for rads to the fractal (which will leave open mesh for noise to escape and dust to get in).
Thanks for your replies.

I've searched further about e-atx boards and seen completed builds with them in both the R5 and H440.
The most that would need to be done is to remove the rubber grommets but 26.4cm should fit in both cases.
