I'm looking for a case to house the Core i5 system I'm going to be building soon and have come across the Fractal Design R2. Can anyone with this case please give their opinions on how easy it was (space wise, etc) to install their components and whether they'd recommend the case or is there a better case available for the same sort of money?

Just finished a build in one and can highly recommend it :)

Cases are a highly personnel choice but this one does not have any problems and the build went smoothly :)

it looks great, is easy to build in and has excellent cable management but its not the best case from a cooling point of view (even with 4 x 120mm and a 140mm on the top).

The 2 drive bays and the non remmovable hard drive cages are the only things that may annoy you with this case. My rebuild into the R2 was very smooth and I was extremely happy with the results.

i have this case, and it is easy to build with, but the lack of 5 1/4 drive bays could be a problem and cooling is not that good with just the standard fan so expect to shell out for some more fans it can take up to 7 fans i think only 1 comes as standard.

so you could be looking at spending a further 50-60 quid on fans. in which case maybe a haf could be a better option.

I really like this case. I see the R3 is out now - although not readily available. Sam basic design with a few improvements over the R2.
