Whatever you do, don't Google the symptoms, you'll go out of your mind and end up self-diagnosing yourself with every disease know to man.

Too late...my mate having bladder cancer doesn't help. But he said his symptoms were different and not to stress out about it as well.

Did they ever find a cause? I am a pretty optimist kind of fellow having been through the ringer medically over the years, but this has freaked me right out, probably because I just don't know anything.

Ive had the problem throughout my life, I had it when I was in primary school then it happened again about 20 years later, then I had it again about 3 years ago and finally last year. It only lasted a few days or a week then it went.
The last time it happened was I think because I had a big drinking session which was a big mistake as I never drink. But who knows?
Never found anything, not bothered as its happened about 4-5 times in my life and im in no pain and the doctors never found anything wrong.

The reason why I have to have these other tests is because they found no sign of infection in my urine test.

Hopefully it is nothing.
