Freaking out!!!

Whilst it's sensible to have the further tests i'd be inclined to take some comfort from the fact that the antibiotic quickly seemed to solve the problem which would suggest to me it's not something more serious.

Fingers crossed anyway and try to stay positive, it's the waiting that just makes things worse as you manager to worry about and imagine things which are far worse that it's likely to be. Just our way of trying to mentally prepare for something I suppose...

Could be many things, many, many of them benign. So don't worry about it until you know more. Just be insistant that you get examined quickly. Good luck.

I totally broke down when my wife came home from work. It didn't help when I saw a little bit of blood back in my urine. I got to try and focus on something else.

I had this out the other end. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was like painting the toilet red for over a week. Never seen anything like it. I never went to the doctors though so unfortunately I'll never know what it was. :o

Chances are it's nothing serious. :)

When I was about 14 my Mum took me to the GP because I was urinating blood.
He told me I was masturbating too much and I'd burst a blood vessel so I had to lay off for a week.
My Mum then says "It's all those mucky books under his bed, should I get rid of them?".

Damn...I would have been straight to A&E. A week???

How old are you/your friend Castiel?

I'm 44, he is in his mid fifties.

How long have you been taking the antibiotics?

Since midday monday.

Haha, that actually made me laugh. Thanks.

Ok. I was still peeing blood after 3 days mate. It was better after a week.

Yeah, pee seems back to normal again.

No infection was found unfortunately. I still hoping that it just wasn't detected in the culture rather than not actually being one.

Never thought I'd be imagining you as you siphon your python, Castiel! Best wishes for a speedy recovery, old boy.

I completely sympathise mate, I was doing the same this time 2 years ago. It was stress induced UTI / kidney infection. Its very alarming seeing your waz bright pink / red. It was very painful as well.

A stress induced infection? Did the stress produce bacteria or something?

The guy has a uti and the doctor was talking crap. End.

Trust Castiel to over-dramatise things!

On a serious note these things are incredibly unpleasant. I caught one off my wife last boxing day. Peeing blood and hanging around in a clinic, no fun.
