Freaking out!!!

I agree, so why he makes shady semi-references is beyond me. My dad was in the army and very proud of it I am too.

Not quite true, I give a damn. You and the 'most' you're apparently speaking for, aren't massively high up my list of worries unfortunately!

I try to refrain from it because of a lot of abuse I got in the past, particularly for some of our muslim friends. I was perhaps too open about it when I first joined, not being entirely used to forums etc I probably opened myself up to it.

It's no big secret, It was a big part of my life for half my life, but I'd rather not be attacked about it so I just stopped talking about, or I just refer to it in what you might think is shady, I don't know. People like edgey know more than anyone on this forum about me and I can assure I do t bring it up very often...I wish now I hadn't now tbh. It was just that the consultant thinks that the unexplained thing might be due to a medical history he doesn't have full access to and I don't remember much about....nothing shady, just that some of the history happened in foreign countries and not under the NHS.

So please just take that as an explanation and I would appreciate it if you can accept that as a reasonable position on why I don't want people giving me a load of abuse, I have had enough of that. (Not that your sniping is by any means abuse like I was getting on the forum and unfortunately privately.)

I have nothing against you and I expect you are a nice chap and I would hope that you give me the same consideration.

Damn, sorry to hear this mate. I had no idea. My wife's been in HDU for almost five weeks before our baby was born last week so I'm only just back on the forums. As you know I have a 3 decade history of recurrent kidney surgeries and cancer scares etc, and so I can empathise with your (mostly emotional) pain. Stents are indeed a nightmare, keep up the fluids and try cranberry juice and lots of cinnamon - it's delicious in fresh orange juice believe it or not. Cinnamon is proven as effective as antibiotics on the urinary tract, and helps keep inflammation low. That's not medical advice, they're just foods - but my own experience says you'll find them helpful.

I'm waiting to go back in for my own kidney surgery, we had to defer it twice due to my wife and daughter. Drop me a line if you want to vent/chat/query, as always I'm available.

Keep rested and I hope you feel better soon. :)

EDIT: Participant, wind it in a bit eh fella. The guy's ill and recovering from multiple surgeries, maybe one of those times where mum told you if you didn't have anything nice to say...?

I knew it was only a matter of time until you casually referenced your 'secret' (read: keep mentioning it) military career!

Look I know Castiel and I don't always see eye to eye on the odd occasion but that is just plain mean when the bloke is quite clearly not happy.

He would have had a number immunisations and environmental exposures from his travel that would have a direct effect on his health. That would not often be fully disclosed due to lack of availability of the medical records for the NHS. Nothing more and nothing less.

We all wind each other up at times and say things maybe we wouldn't if face to face but in my opinion you should have thought a bit more then because kicking someone when their down is lame and cheap.

Not being funny but when an arrogant ****** like me tells you have gone too far then you may want to reconsider. ;)

Good news on the all clear, have they taken the stent out?

Yes they have thank god...because they didn't find any abnormalities, they didn't need to biopsy so no more stent. The difference is absolutely amazing, although obviously I have had some surgery and a bit of discomfort, it is nothing compared to the nightmare of that stent.

Thanks to everyone for your support. Xordium you were a lifesaver when I needed it, thanks again.

Rainmaker, I'll drop you an email in a couple of days.

I have a sneaking suspicion there's a party tomorrow night as I've been told I can't arrange anything and the wife is being evasive.

Maybe it's the opposite and you're going to get a beating for having everyone worried. Together we have a 100% success rate on false alarms and worrying :p

So you had the all clear? Thats fantastic news mate. Been checking this thread for news and im glad everythings ok :)

Time for a **** up then eh?

:D

Thanks fella...yeah, had to wait until this evening for a beer though. Big party on Saturday which was amazing if sober, loads of people, some of whom I had not seen in years.
