Freaky 4 legged walking robot

thats cool, liked the way it didnt fall over when he gave it a boot, looks a bit drunk, had one pint of hydraulic oil to many!

All they need for it to say now is “I’ve come for your soul!” and they have something guaranteed to cause heart attacks.

Noise sounds like it’s coming from a gyroscope…

I want to know what happens when you press that red button at the front? I rekon that its going to be like one of those movies where it gets hit by lightning which blows the inbuilt circuit that tells it not to kill human beings, it then goes on a killing rampage for a while and grabs a pretty starlet carries her to the highes building. When the hero comes to save the day presses the red button and the thing implodes just after they dive out of the way.

I think I may just have an active imagination though.

Posted about 3 times before, but worth showing people everytime it is as it's so damn impressive!

I've never seen that before :o

Its quite cool actually - at some points in that vid it rivals that dancing guy posted the other day :D

I guarantee I'll have a nightmare about that thing trying to crawl into my bed and violate me tonight. Thanks :(

Yeah, it's like from silent hill

So far, BigDog has trotted at 3.3 mph, climbed a 35 degree slope and carried a 120 lb load.

BigDog is being developed by Boston Dynamics with help from Foster Miller, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and the Harvard University Concord Field Station.Development is funded by the DARPA Defense Sciences Office.

Nice, I can soo see this thing in 10 years used by the US army. Walking bombs! Oh and check the smaller version, now I am sure someone would want to have this on his desk :p http://www.bostondynamics.com/content/sec.php?section=LittleDog

Someone at work said something to me about the Brits having these walking spider bomb things that deploy behind the enemy then walk towards them, soon as they get a heat source they lock on and then explode. However this does seem a bit far fetched to me.

dunno it could be done reasonably easily, although would probably be controlled remotely and not just lock onto heat sources or it would end up blowing up a fire or an unsuspecting camel!
