I hadn't really watched many of his shows until I got freeview with UKTV History on it, must admit he was fantastic. I could watch him all day as it's like sitting with my grandpa whilst he tells me about things he's done or explains how things were done!

Man was a genius, brilliant to watch, I can't think of anyone that could replace him though. Just watched a programme with him inside Big Ben, I know he probably has researchers etc but the way he explains and talks about things is exceptional, never self important just matter of fact :D
 
he also says " mm yeah, mm yeah mmm yeah mm yeah" a lot when listening to somone talk.
 
It was on a while back and I started watching it. It's cool to see how he took down the chimneys. Seeing him running for his life as they were falling, awesome. :D
 
Yeah thatone is hilarious, Burning down a 200ft chimney with kids on Grifters and choppers riding around him.

THen just as it falls he makes a run for it, lol
 
I didnt live to far away from me, sometimes you could see his steam engines on the road.

Indeed, Fred = Legend.

I remember seeing a program of him demolishing huge chimneys and the like without the use of explosives... I recall a few near misses, he had to run away a few times :D

I enjoy watching him and im only 23, my brother laughs when ever im sat there watching about trains and stuff. The only programs ive seen were on C4 a while ago when he was taking a trip around britain.

If I'd been posting at my parents, I could have uploaded a photo of Fred building a lego tractor for me when I was about 8.

My dad worked alongside him for a few weeks.
