Free 12months Internet from Apple store iPhone

Could anyone tell me if I put my old PAYG sim from my iphone 3g to my 3gS, will I still get the 12 months free Internet? The Apple store guy said it's encoded in the phone rather than the sim card. Is this correct.

Just got the 32gb in white and it's better looking than my black one IMHO.

The apple guy is talking a load to tosh. I've spent over 10 years in Mobile networks - including knowing many people at O2 etc and their network.

You'll need to argue this with O2 as they're the one that needs to make the changes in their systems to allow you to use free mobile internet. Apple 'geniuses' will not know about this..

As CR has stated - the O2 sim links in with your subscriber information inside O2 (including things like if you're allowed to use mobile internet etc).

Yep, as Concorde said it's tied to the sim, not the phone. Why the Apple guy told you that I really don't know, unless you misunderstood him because I've always (in my experience) found the guys to be reasonably knowledgeable.

My number switch took 2 days but i dunno if u'd keep the internet or not it may or may not be removed from the account.

No he didn't mid-unterstand. He was young though.

Just completed the on-line form. Hopefully the free internet gets transferred.

When I got my iPhone I used the SIM that came with it for five months (was living abroad.) When I got home I ported my old number from Vodafone to O2. Not only did they transfer the free internet from the old SIM to the new but they started the free year again, so I've got 17 free months instead of 12!

Just got my number transfered today. Completed on-line form 9:00pm Wednesday transferred Thursday 10:00am along with a message telling me the free 12 months internet is now active. Now that's quick service.

Also my 3Gs feels quicker than my 3G, particualry loading programs and the Safari browser.

Hopefully the next one will be a dual core chip. There is a Toshiba phone with a 1ghz chip inside it and 4.1" lcd.
