Recently installed Office 2007 for a member of staff, however they often used frontpage. This was discontinued after 2003.

So does anyone know of a free alternative?

Sharepoint designer is the new incarnation of front page, the 2007 is available free and can still be used on plain web pages i.e. you dont have to use it for sharepoint stuff.

Cant say I have really used it though, notepad2 all the way.

First port of call is to slap them for using Frontpage in the first place. Then do any of the above.

Also, how did they use FP? If it was just as a code editor, Notepad++ is a good replacement. If it was as a WYSIWYG, then DreamWeaver.

If they used it for it's proprietary database connections and data displays, then kill them. With nukes. From orbit.

Fairly sure it was for WYSIWYG but doubt there is money in the budget for a copy of dreamweaver at the moment.
