I called them to ask why mine wasn't accepted, this was the response:

You cannot have any image which "looks like it's been downloaded", so nothing you create in photoshop will be accepted EVEN if you make it yourself. It HAS to be a photo you have taken of something, basically. That is all they allow, but it doesn't state this in the guidelines.

So if you're wondering why yours was rejected, that is the reason. Extremely silly, I don't think I'll bother now.
