Hehe apologies mate. Can I ask though, how the hell do you cope with that interior?
At least it's all in one piece!!
My truck's dash pad is broken all to hell, the plastic vinyl seat's got a few cracks in it, the floor carpets are missing, and the Toyota's missing a few of the plastic bits (mainly at the back where I had to take it apart and the piece broke rather than the retaining clips coming undone). The Toyota's interior is only
slightly less garish than that VW's, and the truck's only slightly less than the Yoda's.
But when it comes to driving poverty (or below) spec cars, you take what you can get. Mostly you just ignore what it looks like and remain thankful that the thing is still getting you where you need to go.
The best bit about driving a shed you don't really care about is that when you go shopping and the store's parking lot is on a slight hill (which they all are, aren't they?), you keep the shopping trolley from rolling away by letting it bang up against the car. And since the paint job is less important to you than the one on the wheelbarrow at home, you don't really care what part of the car the shopping trolley comes to rest on, as long as it's not a light lense!!
When I was living in Washington state, I pulled into a Safeway parking lot only to see a very smartly dressed elderly gentleman staring across the parking lot with what looked to be utter defeat on his face. I looked in the direction of his gaze and saw the shopping trolley rolling straight towards an immaculately maintained '65 Corvette parked way off by itself. 2nd gear, smoke from rear tyres, a little jiggling of the steering wheel and one errant shopping trolley was sent to an early grave, but his little baby was saved a serious bit of damage and you should have seen the look of total wonder and amazement on his face as it dawned on him that I'd just sacrificed my right front wing for his car!!

He wanted to pay to have my little truck repaired (this was my banger Chevy L.U.V. truck, not the good one) and I reminded him that the repairs would be 10 times what the truck was worth and not to worry about it, I was just glad to see such a nice car not get damaged. Plus I got a ride in it as he showed me just what a 'Vette can do!!
So once in a while it's nice to drive a shed. Especially around here where the amount of salt on our roads for 6 months of the year will utterly destroy a car in under 10 years........
