As title really, my new job want a credit report done. Unfortunately a checked for free already a year or two ago out of curiosity on experian and can no longer get the free one.

I tried registering on equifax but it seems its linked through experian as is credit expert and numerous others i checked via google. Anyone know one that isn't linked to experian?

I would agree the £2 report is what you want really in general. When you ask for the online one they still have to send you a letter with the password to access it online so don't expect it to be quick. Took about a week start to finish.
You should be able to sign up to equifax though for a free trial I would have thought

Callcredit is also starting a free service which is in beta - just got an e-mail a few days ago to tell me I can be in the trial.. But nobody much uses callcredit so it won't be very complete... :(

I got one with givemecredit.com free for 30 days, and also one with equifax, also free for 14 or 28 days (i forgot). With the first you also get a free credit score, though, how accurate that is i don't know, doesn't even tell you whether it uses the FICA score or the new vantage score, though i know it's not the previous as the score goes upto 1000 as opposed to 700. However, both services there seem pretty accurate, showing exactly the same information about my credit history.

If you decide to go for the Equifax free trial, then Topcashback and Quidco pay a few quid for it so you actually make a profit. Winner!

Just done the equifax free credit check. Appears to be very comprehensive (although a chilling reminder of how poor my financial management was only 2 - 3 years ago). got paid £5.05 for it too.

Get in :D
