Im looking for a free dns provider other than OpenDNS that I can just stick in my network card settings to bypass my ISP.. any ideas?

Telling us who your ISP is would help, considering some people offer alternative DNS services for customers of some ISPs, e.g. be/o2.

through eclipse broadband.. yes opendns works fine but I cant really properly explain why I cant use it without going into lots of unnessasary detail.

We use Microsoft DNS' if there's ever a problem, given to us by our friendly guys at SBS Critical Support :D

Nice and easy to remember: 4.2.2.1, 4.2.2.2. They do tend to stop working after a month or two however, probably IP based blocking.

Those are actually level3 DNS servers ;) not Microsoft's.
