Free Dungeon Keeper Gold

Working great now, I just turned down the mouse speed and cranked up the cycles from 80k to 90k.

A 'quick game' and I have ended up on level 6 so far

gog.com are giving away DK1 for free if you login/create an account.

It's the original Dk1 not crappy 2 or the cartoony remakes :)

**edit also includes deeper dungeons expansion :)

What's wrong with 2?

I only ask as I've only ever played 2, and assumed it wasn't worth going back to the first, have I got that very wrong then?

Signed up yesterday and got DK, DK2 as well just for good measure. Graphics aside forgot how good these games are, much more enjoyable than a lot of the newer stuff.

DK was epic, the recent remakes and dungeon keeper style games were rubbish and EAs DK phone game is just a money grab.

i bought dk2 last week again after playing that new one on steam (the headstart thingy) it just bought back all those feels

i was going buy DK at the same time, but in all honesty i loved DK2 that much i just rushed to play it.

so glad this is here!

Another tip for those that don't know. If you press Alt + R when in a dungeon it switches from the 320*200 resolution to 640*480 resolution. It makes a HUGE improvement to the look of the game

If there's a way of making the res even better I would be very interested to hear about it though

To make this game 100% better, change to 640x480 as above but also change the the dosboxDK.conf from the 80000 cycles (~80 mhz) and other bits to the following

core=autocputype=autocycles=autocycleup=10cycledown=20

Now it runs perfect instead of 80mhz all the time, before I was having to increase my cpu speed to 90mhz, then 100mhz etc when the size of the dungeon increases

Use the link by digit in the post above yours... I've been playing it at 1920 x 1080 and it's nice.

KeeperFX won't recognise my save games from vanilla dungeon keeper even though they're in the save game folder.Anyone know how I can get them to work?

Cant get deeper dungeons to work without a CD though, and GOG forums suggests a lot of mounting and editing to make it work. Oh well.
