Well we have been with Force9 (alias Plus Net) for quite a while now but the receipt of a level 1 management email has pushed us to think about moving; well actually decided us. I have asked for a MAC in ticket to them so I hope they produce one. Anyone had any problems getting the MAC?

Then, where to go. I want to avoid metered access so thought about Bulldog. Anyone got anything against them? Otherwise any suggestions of unmetered ISPs?

Getting a bit annoyed here. Submitted a ticket at around 7pm, was right away asked by their CS as to why I was leaving and what they could do to retain my custom. I told them that I originally signed up for '2mb unlimited' and not 512k, or 128k and I was unhappy at how fast they'd gone from a top isp to an awful one.

Then got a reply from another chap stating I'd not fulfilled my 12months contract so I'd have to pay £14.99, which I was already aware off. I returned the ticket stating I already knew this but how do I pay the £14.99 as I wish to have my mac asap. Not had a reply back in 2hrs so far...

I'm still tied between Eclipse and Zen. The former I assume will upgrade users to 8mb eventually from April onwards, that makes me scared of any capping possibilities. Zen are great but I fear that the 8mb upgrades won't happen to preserve their network capacity, and atm 1mb is all I can afford which is enough tbh.

This morning between 04:30-05:30 is what made me truly snap. I wake up during those times to prepare for work. I spent an hour surfing catching up on forums, emails and general news as one does. For the 3rd day running my connection is up and down more times then jordan's knickers within that time.

Well, Kainz, I submitted a ticket last night complaining about the level 1 management as I dd not seem to have broken any of their published limits and asking for the MAC. I am still waiting for a reply. Posted at 21:47 last night. Their customer support is a bit lacking I think.

Have you thought of Bulldog? That is the one I think I will go for for now. I'm waiting for 'Be There' to be here!

Pipex are very good. They were my first broadband provider for 512/256 up for £23.44. I migrated away 1 and a half years ago and their customer support was unbeatable, but their prices are much higher than your average broadband company but i guess you DO get what you pay for in the end. They knew what they were doing and were very helpful. When i requested my MAC Key from them all it took one phone call and around 5 minutes and i had it. Shame its not the same with e7fraudband, but anyhoo i dont think i need one because im moving to Bulldogs 8mb Inter@ctive LLU Product. :D. I would have chosen BeThere but they initially said my exchange would be unbundled in Febuary but now that dates been pushed back to July, but being realistic as everyone would tell you over at ADSLguides BE forum, my exchange would probably be unbundled at the end of this year.

Be have been having a few problems recently but its still early days. I just took the jump of the cliff and went with Bulldog, looking at their forum on ADSLguide they seem to be a very stable LLU provider compared to others, but most would fault their Customer Service, which by my experience so far has been quite helpful(touch wood). And £19.50 for 8meg unlimited is a killer deal, with a view to being upgraded to 16mbit when they bring out their ADSL2 product which isn't too far off. Now all they need to do is retrain/hire staff that can actually do the job that they have been given. Their lead time also seems very long, being 4-6 weeks where as Be*'s is 6 days if my memory serves correctly. Maybe this is because they have to transfer not only your broadband but also your phoneline to their own equipment at your local exchange, and provide cease orders to your existing ISP(your MAC key does nothing with bulldog).

Hope this gives you some insight.

Woke up this morning to get ready for work and noticed an email sent at 03:30 last night with my MAC. I looked at Eclipse and Zen and went for 2mb on Zen in the end. £35 a month... I feel more secure being with those guys though, looking at adslguide's eclipse forum it had quite a few peeps whinging about recent speed probs.

My zen goes live on 08/02 :)
