Well I have been contacted by Club La Costa and offered a free holiday !
Well there is no such thing as a free lunch !
So the criteria is I have to attend a 2 hour meeting and if I book my free holiday ( valid up to 6 people ) it is £29.50 for the first 4 people and £99 each for the remaining 2.

Now I have read all the small print and there is no purchase, no subscription, no signing a form or contract to claim the said free holiday.
I need to supply 3 dates I am available and I should get one of the dates I have submitted.

My question is has any been to the Club La Costa meeting and has any one been on their FREE holiday ! ?

Is it a scam or not ! ?

2 hour meeting? They will try and sell you a timeshare or overseas property or something no doubt, but you probably know this. Where is this holiday? Is it overseas? A tent on Blackpool Beach?

When we was in Spain about 10 years ago the same deal happened.

Its a time share and a scam.

We were told if we didn't accept the deal, we still got a free gift.

Expect to have free booze on tap, and some good looking girls/guys talking to you.

The free gift was a handheld computer game thingy which broke a couple of days later.

We was told it would be 2hrs, in the end it was half a day!

I know a few folk that have done this, you attend there meeting tell them to beat it and get a cheap holiday. Win really.

My folks just had a cheap (not free) holiday with Club La Costa in Malaga. Said they didn't like Malaga (I could have told them they wouldn't before they left!) but it was otherwise legit. Apparently the key to surviving the 2 hour meeting is to be very definite that you aren't signing up - if you give them an indication you're undecided that's when you get the hard sell.

It's slightly different to a time share, but I can't remember why exactly. My Dad said it cost something like £16k to join then another £600 a year maintenance (which presumably they could put up without changing T&Cs), the apartment they were shown round was very nice they said.

We got £50 for a 1 hour time share meeting, fortunately the woman accepted early on that we were only in it for the voucher, showed us the apartments which was interesting then let us go.

The part I am confused about is the "free" part.

So the criteria is I have to attend a 2 hour meeting and if I book my free holiday ( valid up to 6 people ) it is £29.50 for the first 4 people and £99 each for the remaining 2.

A family member does this once or twice a year:

You get a cheap/free holiday for attending a 2-3hr meeting/seminar. They try and flog you some time-share or similar at the end of it, you say "Thanks but no thanks" and they have to give you your free holiday.

Only an afternoon of pushy sales people, and at the end and get the free week (accommodation) in a luxury villa in Spain or Tenerife (you pay for the cheap flights.)
They hope that after the week in the luxury villa they've been trying to get you to invest in you'll go back to them and hand them loads of dosh.
