I currently have an iPhone provided by my employer and a San fran (zte blade) that is my personal phone. At the moment I have an 02 family setup on my San fran so I get unlimited texts etc, i send texts on this at work through my laptop using 'MyPhoneExplorer'.

Now is there an app available for iOS that will allow me to send messages from my iPhone through my laptop? The mrs has an android phone so she must be able to have the same app installed to receive them? It also must use 3G or wifi to send the messages.

Any ideas anyone?
Thanks

I dont know about sending them through laptops. But you could both install whatsapp and send from phone to phone for free?

Could just use Google Talk (Vtok on iOS) to send messages from your laptop, or as sanaxe1 says, WhatsApp is a great inter-phone chat app.

I'll have a look at those suggested. I have tried ICQ which does work but I don't like it.

They only thing is I need to be able to send from my laptop as well as my iPhone, i don't think you can do that with whatsapp.

Unless your running OSX on the laptop i dont see a way to use the messaging app.

I can recommend Whatsapp. One of the best apps iv used (appart from BBM) for free messaging services. Can even call over wifi too. But using the desktop to message. Im sorry this is new to me too.

GTalk is going to be the best here as it does Phone to Phone and Phone to PC with minimum fuss. It also helps that it can be a embedded in a web browser so it leaves no logs for your employer to snoop.
