I need a way to have a different password for all of my logins, and to actually remember them would also be useful - so I think I need a password manager.

What's a good free Password Manager for iOS/MacOS/Windows 7 that is stream lined and easy to generate and store random passwords on the cloud, but more importantly, easier for me to retrieve them.

I don't trust password managers. Especially free ones. Ask yourself... what are they getting out of providing you a free service.

Are you not better of writing it on a piece of paper? Just interestingly had the idea of writing it on a bit of paper but with a Enigma machine simulator ! So it's all nice and cryptic and have another note elsewhere with the settings!

but seriously though password managers are definitely a questionable market where new ones come and go every month.

I think there is a place for password managers.. Maybe not for the most secure sites like baking or similar.. However for sites you access very rarely and have no big value.. Ie forums password managers work great to create random people password so you don't have to worry about using same one on some forum than you're using for banking as well.

About good alternatives to LastPass I heard good reviews about Dashlane and One Password. Also purely on brand name I imagine Kaspersky's Password Manager must be pretty safe option, but not sure if that's paid or free though.

Well I mean.. I'm willing to get paid ones as long as they won't break on me, are fully cross-compatible and generally.. just work.

Is your opinion negative of solely free managers or would you say paid managers work pretty well?

Also I would prefer a one-off payment and really don't want to buy a yearly contract type of software.

Why are you moving away from Lastpass out of interest? I find it pretty good - but won't resubscribe if there's a known issue with it!

Are you for real? :p
Hold on whilst I bin my Arch Linux install, uninstall KeePass and stop using Wikipedia. None of those guys can be trusted, giving stuff for no return, I don't believe it!

KeePass here also, in various forms.
KeePassX 2.0 was just released yesterday.
There are various alternatives for different platforms to allow x-platform access to .KDBX and as above your best bet is to sync this using your Dropsbox/GDrive or whichever "cloud" service you use.

Lastpass is free, you only pay for mobile support which is $12 USD per year or about £8 ish :)

Another vote for Keepass. In addition to the password managing part, you can have a ton of fun with the autotype feature. I would be lost at work without it.
