Free PVR type Software?

Hi all

I have just bought a second hand hauppauge PCI analogue TV Tuner. I want to be able to record a channel at a particular time. I dont want the TV Schedule. I just want to record channel x at a certain time. Thats it.

Any suggestions?

Media Portal

Should support your Hauppauge TV card. A lot more stable now than when I first tried it too.

The best free one by far from my experience. It might not have a every bell & whistle but it is so stable and easy to use.

Edit: you did not say exactly what card you have. If it does not have a hardware encoder (ie. a cheaper card with a software one) then you will have to go for something else like MediaPortal.

It is an old Hauppauge PCI Analogue (878 Chipset i think) - no hardware encoder.

I have been put onto WinTV Scheduler by the guy i bought it from and that seems to work a treat but any more suggestions are welcome.
