** FREE STUFF - IC-Diamond GIVEAWAY **

Hello there, if I may post on this subject.
I could post a great deal more in regards to this issue, however I will not. As for myself, I am NOT the Ceo and I came in to work for ICD on the tail end of this, So i am not in a position to confirm or refute anything.

However I am WELL KNOWN by another nic- having being involved in various national Overclocking contests and work for DFI Lanparty etc. I also own a computer hardware review site and I reviewed this product back in 2009 with ZERO issues.

Also I am not the CEO, rather I am UK-BASED and work for him. This is why I was hired,. as well as being known as a Overclocker/Modder helping out on the marketing and support side.

So as a NEW rep for ICD please liaise with myself based upon my performance, otherwise one would not be giving me a fair chance. I think all the R&D Ihave done on the ICD WC thread should speak volumes to the commitment that has been installed within these forums.

However can we get back to the giveaway instead of being drawn away and not bring an honest thread into disrepute ?

Ok I just cleaned off the existing Arctic Silver 5 and put on the new IC-Diamond 24 Carat and my idle temps before were 32'c and that was with re-applying the AS5 a few times to measure temps and get a rough average.

After thoroughly cleaning both the CPU and H100i CPU block I have applied IC-Diamond 24 Carat and my new idle temps are 27-28'c.

Very happy with this, So 10/10 from me :)

I had a free tube of this from ocuk's previous promotion of the product. It is a fantastic conductor of heat, and it helped a great deal in my d630 laptop.

My personal input

Pro's

  • Fantastic thermal conductivity
  • Great Performance
  • Reasonably easy to apply

Cons

  • Stains IHS after use
  • Nightmare to Remove if its been seated for a long period

Its a good product at a competitive price.

Just to back rich up, ocuk are massively better now than they used to be. I haven't purchased any products from them since my last issue with a return admittedly ..... but the forum is much more open place now than it used to be and that points to a change of direction / opinion at the place.

To be fair to AS5, it requires time to cure so your re-application unless it was left for a few days each time doesn't really count.

Mikes assessment is correct.

However I have been using this product since 2009 and in my opinion ICD still needs 20 hours to cure.

However you do get most of the performance within the first few hours.

I let the first application of AS5 cure for 7 days and the temp remained at 32'c, Removed, Cleaned then applied again 3 days ago, Same temp.

So it does count :)

I am disappointed having read the tech powerup thread I must say. Company representation should not behave like that.

I had no such problems with the product myself. I think the cooling performance is fantastic, but for the fact that its a pain to apply (I believe you can warm it up to fix this) and even worse to remove should you want to ... I've moved back to AS5 ever since.

You just keep it at room temperature before you apply it, Apply a pea sized glob, Put on the cooler and your done, It takes 30 seconds, No big deal.

And to remove it I find running any CPU benchmark for 5 minutes to warm it up helps, Take off the cooler and clean it off with Iso.

Took me all of a huge amazing horrifying 2 minutes to clean off and re-apply IC-D24 on my work mates rig as he much put way too much on.

Mike can you do me the honour of judging ICD by my work , rather than the CEO'S as I was not involved in this and one should judge by my work alone.

cheers fella

I don't judge a product by a forum post :) The cooling is fantastic. I don't really need to say any more than that! Its still in my d630, and if you find the last giveaway on here you'll see I got some brilliant results.

Unfortunately I don't have the original graphs of the temperatures now as I put a Samsung SSD in here to gee some life into the old girl :)

I don't like promotions where you have to like stuff on facebook, as I personally despise the website but I'll buy some more and try it on my desktop pc when I get the chance. I currently have MX2, with a H100 and a 3770k.

Something that would be interesting, is how well this stuff sits on a de-lidded 3770 or 3570k to see if its a patch on the liquid metal pro commonly used between the cpu die and the IHS.

Greetings frostdragon,

I'm not interested in the giveaway other than buying one unit of the IC 24 for private use. Should, after, say, a few months use and it "stains" my CPU's IHS to the point that any recourse for warranty from Intel be necessary but is refused due to the "staining", what would be IC's responsibility, if any? The situation then might seemed like "How long is a piece of string" sort of grey area, but the question perhaps bears asking.

Thank you.

Thank you.

It does stain your CPU but it's only a little shadow nothing major.

Now that would be very interesting, but somehow I dont have the nerve to de-lid my 3960X CPU:(

IT is a fair comment to make, I wouldn't know where to start on this to be honest. But i think the stain is where there has been contact and pressure (usually along edges of water block/cpu ihs)

I have had the saidf stain on my cpu ihs, however I used AKASA TIM cleaner which smells of lemons ( i presume it has some form of lemon extract) this removed ALL evidence of stain and got the IHS like new again.

PS TO above post I think there is a video which shows slight evidence of this stain but explains this is only along lines of contact between surfaces and even then this stain can be removed.

Thks for the reply. Worth a try for the cooling advantage . After all, Intel CPU's don't expire that often but should they do, there are more pros than cons.

I took part int he last giveaway even though i had been using ic24 for ages before the giveaway. I wont be taking part in this one as the only part I have to change is a water block for my 290x and if I used a slice of rubber cheese as tim I would still see a huge drop in temps over the stock cooling solution. :)
