Free to Play MMO with healer in a holy trinity?

I'm a big Guild Wars 2 fan, but the lack of a 'Holy Trinity' (tanks/damage/healer) detracts from it slightly for me. Mainly because I loved playing a healer in WoW and GW1 - and healing in GW2 just seems a bit nondescript.

Are there any 'free to play' mmo's that still have an active healing class as part of a 'holy trinity' mechanic?

I don't mind paying for the initial game but no subscription fees please.

Any suggestions?

Lord of the Rings Online.

Neverwinter sort of has the trinity (very diluted form based on how much of the game I've seen but technically its there).

SWTOR if you can stomach the f2p model.

You mean pay to win model, surely? I recently tried SWTOR, having not played it since launch and it's a complete joke. You can't really do anything without spending money.

The best free MMO with the standard dps/healer/tank system is Rift, but spending £9 a month for WoW would be my recommendation if you can spare it.

I'd considered the free trials that are around (WoW and SWTOR) but don't want to get into a game that will need a subscription if I get hooked...

Well you have no chance then, every single game like that has a subscription apart from GW2. It is the only one that doesn't afaik.

The closest what you'll get is Wildstar, which you'll eventually be able to buy subscription with the ingame currency, but it could take a few months to get to the point where you are rolling in money, and that would require some subscription to get to.

LotRO killed it's trinity by making everything solo friendly.

I'd be concerned about other things if you can't stomach a £9 sub charge for something that would be taking up a large portion of your leisure time.

Everquest 2 - Just got back into it, not a healer myself in MMOs but usually tank.. lack of proper tanking/healing classes in GW2 put me off it aswell.

EQ2 is entirely free to play (up to a certain expansion level anyway but there is a lot of content that is free), by the time you realise if you want to keep at it.. you'll have played enough to warrant buying the current expansion (which gives access to all other expansions.. other than one that gives you mercenaries or something, I cant remember)

Only started back on EQ2 last week with a friend who hated MMOs years ago, I remembered the game was f2p and said "Hey, wanna give it a go?" suprisingly he was interested.. so we gave it a go and I'm back into it to :)

Whats EQ2 like these days? Hows the low level pop?

I tried to get back into EQ2 recently, it runs really badly on my PC with shadows on, and looks dreadful without them. Pity, there's a lot of game there.

Just started playing EQ2 again with a friend and the low level population is almost non-existent. However, there are ways round this. The specs are very low, so you can Dual box on the same PC very easily. Or, there are NPC mercenaries you can hire now to fill the gaps in your group.
The low level content is very easy though and the leveling curve has changed so the low levels shoot by. We're playing the holy trinity of Tank/healer/chanter so the DPS isn't high, but mobs are dying very quickly still at about level 30. We can always hire an NPC rogue to speed things up.
As for the FTP part, not being gold just means you can't scribe master spells/abilities and you can't sell on the broker. That's it I think.

I was pottering about on EQ2 the other week on my L67 chanter. I was in Mistmoore Castle when an impromptu group formed up and we had a great time. Man, I miss public dungeons with all this modern, instanced crap.
