Freeaim VR Shoes

Looks interesting. Certainly far more practical and space friendly than a massive walking treadmill like the Katwalk C, alls you need is a smooth floor by the looks of it. Be a good workout I imagine too. Be interested in how this develops, price etc.

i like the idea of these.
i think Thrill covered these a year or so ago.
great concept, i worry about going out of bounds though. you can see in the video they come close to the edge a few times.

good for imersion and getting moving instead of stationry and sitting. so im all for that!

these are good space saving options the other one is the https://www.infinadeck.com/ (i think there is another one similar) this seems to be actively in use reading the websie! (howmany times would i hit my head on the railings!)

for us mere mortals the shoes are a great option. but looks to need 2m square space for it to operate in. not sue how many people will have that in there homes.
realcement souls and needing a hard surface to operate on might be the only issues for some people. Ow and Game support

its an interesting idea, something you're gonna need to try before you buy imho to get a feel for it

personally I've gotten use to repositioning myself IRL and adjusting for that in VR using the controls

one thing I do see as a barrier is the situation where you kneel down that kind of rules out having any frame

Cas & Chary's thoughts on these shoes from AWE. I like these, not at the $1500 they are currently sold though, if they can make em for $600-$700 like she says in this vid, hmm, I think I'd love to walk through environments like in Fallout 4.

Small bump for pricing and potential release schedule.

"The VR Shoes Pro is available to businesses to pre-order for a price starting at $3999. We're planning on releasing a consumer version sometime in 2025 for around $1000-1200. As we scale up we will continue to evaluate the price and work to drive it down even more."

I'm backer no.94 I think, went for the slightly more expensive version that can be used without a frame or support, estimated delivery Feb 2026, hope I haven't just lost £1k! I think they'll deliver.

£181,186
pledged of £149,000 goal

backers
29days to go

so enough has been raised within 24 hours to reach the goal and go ahead. nothing is guaranteed though, got to keep that mind, I'm hopeful though.

they've been around fora while, so i dont see them going away.
they have good options. walking up to a slowjog.
juming is possible but not recomended, and not really designed for.

there is some great potential with them, not just in gaming but general health potentially, recovery ect

Yeh thank you, them being around for a while and having a product they are already selling gives me some re-assurance.
About not being able to run in them, there's no not much chance I would use them for running anyway, last time I tried to run in real life I fell flat on my face :o:cry:
I find exercise so boring, hopefully these will give me some enjoyable exercise.

Wonder what games they'd suit? Apparently they just replicate joystick input so afaik they should be compatible with a lot of games. I'm looking forward to walking in Skyrim and Fallout, just started playing UEVR games too (just so many games to choose from and with the latest UEVR tools there's not much jank for a lot games), it's be cool if it worked with that.

well there is an sdk they are working so... touch base with them for your project
maybe set up a demo to do a stroll through various locations like the thames river (google earth integration) or some garden with Hannah walking beside you maybe? or a game with Marvin? i like the idea of a sort of romantic walk through an arboretum arch

i see lots of potential for options in use.

some play lists

Where are we?

Freeaim Technologies Limited
Amersham, United Kingdom

Disappoiting its not an up north location but still at least its a UK company

Cheers, those are great idea's, I didn't even think about it if these shoes could be used with my app, hmm I wonder if they could be used, with the SDK you've mentioned there's every chance I could get something working. Yeh nice to see a UK company doing something innovative in VR.
