Hi Everyone, i've just purchased a Freecom external 500gb pro hard drive (usb2.0/sAta) etc

I would like to know what hard drive is contained inside (without opening it up)

I have contacted freecom, they said it could be 1 of three brands, is there any software that can give me the information i want as when I perform a detailed search in windows all it gives me is "freecom pro" as the name

Thanks in advance

all it says in the device manager is : freecom hard drive pro usb

in the safely remove hard drive list it's just listed as USB mass storage device

myn is the classic 500gb and it is a Samsung..

in the "safely" remove bit, tick the box at the bottom..

Done that and where it says Manufacturer it says (standard disk drives)

Generic volume is also displayed under the drive when the box is ticked
