Just got regraded last night to their max service,i was currently getting speeds of 234kbs,now only 240kbs,only gained 6kbs could somebody please tell me if it takes 10 days to work out the correct speed of your line as this is what the guy has told me at f2s.I am currently on the 8meg service by the way.The speed test was done at ADSL guide.org.

these are my resultshttp://www.adslguide.org.uk/tools/speedchart.asp?id=5d7af96110a893ed8418d0e1da

if you are syncd at 8mb then it looks like the bras problem. Was your router switched off at the time of the regrade? if not then it might take up to 3 days for the profile to update

Yeah i switched my router off and disconnected it as a precaution,i live about one and a half mile from the exchange but have always had an excellent speed, will my speed get better after three days and why does it take 3 days if it is being monitored all the time.

do i complain to f2s or do i leave it for 10 days like they told me or is that aload of swearing what the tech guy told me?

Read the FAQ.

Lots of people seem to have noticed that the speed takes several days to improve, if that's what they've told you then have a bit of patience, no point in being angry with anyone. If there's still a problem in 10 days then obviously phone back and see what the problem is.

Thanks very much for the help,it seems as though i am not the only person with this problem, and thanks again.

I got upgraded with F2S on Monday.

I had my router turned off overnight.
Mine is sync'd at 8128/488.

data rate is all over the place. Last night (3am) i was getting over 800KB/s , now im getting 300KB/s.
I realise there is more contention during 'peak' hours, but i hope the variance isnt this great at the end of the 10 days.

I have exact same problem, I thought maybe it was due to me not switching my router off but it seems that is not the case. My router reports the following:

Downstream Rate : 8128 Kbps
Upstream Rate : 448 Kbp

My download speed is 240k/sec & upload speed atm is 45k/sec

It has been 2 days, but I cant see how it will magically fix itslef tbh, I would call f2s but I rekon they will give me some silly response which wil anger me further as I know I will have to queue for 30 or so mins before anyone even answers the fone! Was happy seeing my downstream rate at 8128 but now its just a joke, wait 1 week for line to be regraded and now by the seems of it another week or so before my line can actually operate at the speed, I bet i'm charged for the max service from the day it regraded tho..

edit: well I phoned them to be told the generic "wait 3 days answer", so if it aint changed 2moro I gonna have to start getting arsey with them. Getting really annoyed now, waited long enough for this bloody "max" connection.

It's nothing we (f2s) can control, it's a bug with the max product. I can show you the pdf from BT if you don't believe me.

also see http://www.adslguide.org.uk/newsarchive.asp?item=2622

ooops, i just saw the legal notice at the bottom of the pdf and i'm scared :o There's nothing in there that adslguide don't know about though :)
