Not sure how much sense this is going to make but I'll give it a go.

I've signed up to webhostia as I needed some web space for file hosting. I also have a domain through 123.

Domain: ojhaslam.co.uk
Freehostia: ojhaslam.freehostia.com

Now, if I set forwarding up through 123 and point it at the freehostia site, some files forward fine, whilst jpgs do not. I find that jpgs only show when you drop the www, making the forwarding useless.

Example:

www.ojhaslam.freehostia.com/dog.jpg will not work.
http://ojhaslam.freehostia.com/dog.jpg will work.

So, how do I make my domain forward to my freehostia account, without adding the www at the beginning?

Not sure how much of that makes sense

Also, if you go to http://ojhaslam.freehostia.com/ you can browse the file structure. Is there any way to stop that?

Cheers :D

To try and make things clearer, here's what I've put in a support ticket with freehostia:

I have a domain name registered with another company and want to be able to use that url to access files on my freehostia space. This works fine for the root directory, but an other files can only be accessed via ojhaslam.freehostia.com. Is there any way to make it so I can access files using my domain name?
