FreeNAS - Adding SATA Card + Extra disk(s)

Hi All,

I've currently got Freenas running in my Dell T5500 Workstation - Overkill I know - and I need to look to expand the storage.

It's currently using all 4 of the onboard sata ports, so I'm just looking for a cheap and cheerful 4 port SATA card.

I presume pretty much anything will be fine, as long as I get a chipset that other people seem to have had work.

With regards adding the extra disk in after all that. Have any of you ever done that before? if so with what level of hassle/success?

Something like a Dell PERC H200 flashed to IT mode would be perfect for this, assuming you have a PCI-Express spare expansion slot.

As above, but get the 310, newer, better port location and usually the same price.
