Hi folks,

I am having a little trouble with my freenas box at present.
It has a gigabit NIC installed which is syncing at 1Gbit, but I am only getting 10 - 15Mbit/s transfer speed one way and 0.5 - 1MBit/s the other way.

copying files via explorer using windows 7.
I habe tested the connection with another windows 7 machine and they seem to get a decent transfer rate 50/60 Mbit (burst speed ~90Mbits)

windows 7 machines are using on board NIC, whereas the freenas box is an old NForce based system with a DLink PCI NIC.

Freenas version7 (8 throws up an error after i have mounted the disks)
When copying files to the FREENAS box using explorer i see about 10 - 15 MBit/s, however when i try and stream/copy files FROM the freenas box I am seeing ~1Mbit/s and it wont stay constant either, it basicly cant stream media because of the terrible network performance.

Tried another OS on your NAS? I use Ubuntu Server on mine as I read it was faster than FreeNAS. Maybe just run Ubuntu from a USB drive as a test to see what speeds you get, although it sounds like there is more wrong there as those speeds are awful.
