Freesync and triple monitors. How does it work

Hi guys. Looking for some advice on this.

I currently have a Benq 27" 1440p 144hz freesync screen. I really want to get another two monitors for a triple screen racing setup. Apart from the obvious in matching monitor size so it doesn't look silly, do I need to buy two more freesync monitors to have freesync option available to me? I don't know if it's possible to get two non freesync for the left and right to save money and just have freesync working on my main centre one?

Also, can u mix resolutions?

Obviously it's best two run 3 identical screens for similar IQ but it's not possible for me to get two more of the monitor I already have as I think they are EOL now. Plus at £500 each, it's a bit steep.
 
One potential clarification:
FreeSync itself is practically cost-free. It's the G-Sync that brings a price premium.

So the extra cost for the FreeSync is not an issue you should be worried about. Furthermore, nowadays you'd actually be more hard-pressed to find a 144Hz monitor WITHOUT FreeSync or G-Sync.

But on the contrary, the 1440p and/or 144Hz will indeed bring extra costs vs. 1080p and 60Hz. For desktop usage, there should be no problems with mixing and matching resolutions and refresh rates, but not sure how intelligently the FreeSync works with differing resolutions and/or refresh rates in games.

Think I'm just going to buy 3 new matching screens, 1440p might be to demanding as well, whats that 7680x1440p. I think even a 1080ti would struggle with that lol. Might have to drop down to 3x 1080p monitors for the racing rig.

Racing rig? buy a VR headset. Nothing else can compare for driving games. It would save you a ton of money too.

Forget that. You won't even care. Believe me, you sitting in the car looking around at your co-driver or at the scenery going by, it's just an amazing experience. Had me giggling like a school girl the first time I played Dirt rally, and I don't even like driving games.

You get more of an idea of the road, the twists and turns and the humps and hollows. When you hit a big dip on the road on a normal monitor, even the most high res monitor, you can see the dip but hit the same dip in VR, wow, it's like you are there.

No triple screen setup can even come close to that feeling.
 
Just want to add, that if you play games like Elite Dangerous or any flight sim as well as driving games, then you should seriously consider getting a VR headset. I know people who have sold their triple screen setups after getting one.
