can someone spec me a tv card for my pc that receives freeview channels

From the OcUK site (of course)

internal card would be:

Have a look at something made by Hauppauge I have had 2 PCI card and USB freeview
tuners over the years and they all work perfectly. They cost peanuts second hand too

Sorry for asking a question in your thread but, what's the deal with these cards anyway? Do you just plug in an aerial, install the software, and you have freeview on your pc?

pretty much, the USB card I have will even detect Sky-Boxes or video players if they are connected between it and the house antenna

Most people use Windows Media Center because on the whole the supplied software is garbage.

Haupauge are good so are the ones OCUK sell only slight negative with teh compro cards is that the remote is a bit of a brick.

They appear to be yes.

I've got a T500F (normal terestrial or digital via a normal aerial), it's fine for my needs, though I've never been able to get it to record sound (use iplayer or 4od instead), and media centre doesn't seem to like it (which is fine because I hate the way mc takes over the o/s). I just use the latest update of the compro software which seems fine to me.
