I have just bought a Samsung 32D6530 LED TV, cracking TV, but I'm having issues with the Freeview reception on it.

Plugging it into the suitable digital aerial that I have, results in only a handful of channels being received fully.

The odd thing is, I also have an Elgato receiver connected to my iMac and also an old Sagem set top Freeview box which both pick up almost all the channels perfectly, from the same aerial.

Does anyone know if there is likely to be a problem with the TV or is there a known phenomenon whereby different types of receivers just pick up differing qualities even from the same aerial?

It's interesting that the newest receiver in the TV has the worst performance (over two boxes, both over 5 years old).

Merry Christmas :)

Samsung do have some what dodgy sort of reputation for using cheap tuners in there TVs i would just hook up on of the others you have and run that thru the TV.

hmm my samsungs have no probs at all.
Is the aerial feeding this one point or is there a splitter/distributuion amp somewhere along the line ?

you shudnt have to use a freeview box when u got it already on the tv, but you could connect one thru your tv and see if that works.
I like the process of elimination :)

Anyone know if they plan to turn up signal strength as freeview switchover approaches?
My folks live at the bottom of a hill, the picture is variable at best but with a jvc builtin box, they get great bbc strong signal, and awful strength on itv, not quite sure why it happens, but less than half the freeview stations are watchable, as sound breaks up.
They have a proper ariel and correct booster etc.
Will signal strength go up?
Norn iron btw.
Also wondered if anyone knows about rte switchover and if a separate box will be required for those stations?

I have the 32D6530 in my bedroom and the freeview signal is terrible. All my other TVs pick up the channels no bother.

To solve the problem I bought a signal amplifier/booster for £10

To be fair, my aerial isn't in the greatest of places so I'm going to look into moving it first...

Judge, which amp did you get?

For the sake of closure, the aerial was put up on the roof (from the loft) and everything is now perfect.
