freezer box inside fridge and icing up questions

You need the door on the freezer box for it to freeze.

The reason it's icing up is because the door isn't sealing it and allowing moisture to permeate causing frost. You might be able to get a spare part - do you have any part numbers or a brand/ model number?

If its getting to cold I would try building a small fire in the fridge compartment, be careful tho you don't want to build it too big because you want to be able to manage the temps efficiently

I had the whole freezer part of a fridgefreezer that was the size of OP's fridge freeze up into a solid block of ice once when the seal on the door went. I continued to use the fridge for 2 years afterwards until I finally woke up and realised I was wasting so much electric keeping that solid block of ice frozen and bought a new fridgefreezer.

Took nearly a week to defrost the solid block of ice when the fridgefreezer was removed to the back garden. Also found some frozen food that had been in there the 2 years that I had forgot about which was a bonus. :D
