freezer pro 64

Just fitted mine, sort of! when i pull down the clip it draggs the heatsink across the cpu so its only half way over the chip! and my cpu is 126 degrees
Ive noticed that the bottom of the heatskin doesnt actually cover the full chip

hope u ant using your comp to post here, ** cpu will be dead v v soon!

I would try re-sitting the heatsink, it should drag across the cpu, maby a bit of movment but not what it sounds like u have managed.

Haven't used the Freezer 7 and dunno what the 775 socket looks like, but with my Freezer 64 Pro the HS is slightly off the centre of the CPU, but only by a few millimetres. It's only the centre of the CPU over the core that gets really hot I believe.

Only half over though, that's definitely fitted wrong or something. What are your temps looking like?

Make sure you've put all the puch pins in correctly, if they pull away from the board you've done it wrong and will have to do it again if you want your CPU to live.

Puch pins though board > twist to lock > lightly pull to check it's on properly.

Yikes, missed that 126 degrees bit. Turn off PC straight away and don't use it again until you find what's wrong. Got to be the HSF fitted wrong.

Thanks for the replys, turns out i was using the wrong mb!!! :D :D

I was using my old broken one! ha didnt realise untill i seen the boot screen for the 3rd time and thought, "eh?!"

Anyway, got it fitted sound now, workin coolio. Its so quiet!
