Freezing for no reason?

Wicked thanks for the suggestions guys, i will try and reseat the components, though i haven't touched them for over a year......

Also, this problem was occuring before i installed mobo monitor so i don't think that this was the problem, i might have a look and see if there is a way of fixing the registry, using a program? Anybody know of any?

If it works in safe mode, then its more then likely a software issue, unistall the anything that loads in windows but doesnt in safe mode and reboot, see how it goes.

Turn off fast writes and/or side band addressing in the BIOS (if you can) or use RivaTuner or some other tool to do it in Windows.

You might also want to read up on the the AGP drive strength or whatever it's called (so long ago I forget exactly) if it's a VIA chipset motherboard and tweak it as found on some websites (that you should find if you do a search).

Last option is to change to AGP 2x in the BIOS if it's running at AGP 4x or if it's AGP 8X change to AGP 4x.

All are long shots but have been known in the past to fix stability problems on old hardware like yours.

Yes if it works ok in safe mode then it will most definately be software related.Try and uninstall any programs you have added lately until you see the problem go away (Hopefully).
