Hi there,
I've been getting some freezing every couple of mines in both CoD5 + CS:S so i'm gonna assume it's in all games. I've just reinstalled the OS, so it's clean with just drivers & those two games, and they are still freezing!
I've tried both 182.08 and 182.06 graphics drivers and i'm having no luck at working out what the fault could be.
This only leads me to assume its hardware? I know for a fact it's not overheating as i got RealTemp running at all times anyway and the GPU doesn't go over 65, and the CPU not over 45.
I'm running out of possible ideas i could try and i'm hoping its not hardware as i'd have no idea where to start at diagnosing the fault!

Here's my setup:
Intel Q6600 B3 @ 3Ghz (all stock except fsb) / Noctua u12p
8gb OCZ Gold PC6400 C5
XFX GTX260 Black Edition
Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer
Windows Vista Ultimate 64-Bit

Either something is conflicting or i have some sort of hardware problem! I didn't really notice when the problem started which is why i'm annoyed as it's gonna make it so hard to diagnose!
Any thoughts appreciated.

Both of those games run at 1680x1050 @ all max settings, except for vsync off.
I googled around, and found one person who has a similar situation as me in one of the games, and turned off anti-aliasing to fix the problem in the latest nvidia drivers, however this didn't seem to help stop the crashing that im facing :(

well the q6600 should be fine @ default clock speeds,
though i will turn it to default and see if i still get the same problem!

North bridge voltage needs bumping up a notch on some systems too sometimes with over 2 sticks of ram.

Does sound like not enough volts though agreed with above poster.

I will get lockups if I try and do 3.4ghz at default voltage just like you described.

I'd run a few tests on orthos to find a stable voltage.

i used to get freezing on airborne and grid and notched the cpu/mem voltage up and have had no problems since!

i assume that all are by default the same as the CPU Vcore, as they are only overvoltage's you can set? so then i'd need to add about 0.10V ?

you have to remember that my system at stock is 3ghz and i am running at 3.8ghz so i need the extra volts. try 1.9v on the memory for starters!
