Hey,

I bought some mince from the fridges at a local supermarket. When I got home I put it in the freezer but now I've taken it out to defrost it says on the packet "If thawed do not refreeze".

Does that mean it would have thawed in the fridge at the supermarket and I shouldn't have frozen it?

Second question, it's a block of mince. Is there any easy way to cut it in half without defrosting it? There's no way I'll eat the whole thing on my own. (No nukes, mustard, etc to hand sorry).

"Chilled" meats should never have been frozen.
So your mince would have arrived at the supermarket chilled having never been frozen.
You then froze it and have now thawed it out.
You can safely eat it or cook it and then re-freeze it (if you really wanted to).

Don't however simply re-freeze.

Next time before you let it thaw get a knife and line it up in the middle of the meat, then hit it hard with something heavy (I use a rolling pin). This will cause it to break at that point.
