Hi Guys,

Can anyone spec me a good gaming keyboard and mouse.

I have saw the Logitech keyboard with the phone dock which I think is very cool if nothing else but is there anything similar which is cheaper?

Mouse and Keyboard will be used primarily for gaming.

Would like the keyboard to be mechanical and illuminated.

Max I would spend is £100 or is this not a realistic price for what im after?

Keyboards especially mechanical will be hard to recommend since there are a variety of switches and forms. It will come down to personal preference something that only you can really figure out. I recommend you first figuring out watch switch type you'd like to go for then it'll be easier for others to make a recommendation based on that. Quite a few of the high street shops will have keyboards with the popular Cherry MX switches. You should be able to ask them if you can try it in store. Mechanical keyboards will range between £70-150+ depending on what you're after.

Zowie mice are great for gaming but that too depends on the size of your hand, grip preference (palm/claw/fingertip), and DPI needs.

If you want a basic illuminated keyboard that is a good starting point for gaming then you can't go wrong with the CM Storm Devastator Gaming Bundle for £33 on OCUK.

Thanks Buddy

It would be the red switches I would go for like the ones in the Keyboard guide my mate has them on his.

Will check out the Zowie mice as well.

The next questions would be do you want a full size kb or the shorter form TKL? Also do you care if it has RGB features, macro keys?

Would be full size - wouldn't mind RGB features but macro keys aren't essential but would also like a display of some kind - Even PC stats or something hence why I liked the look of the Logitech with the Phone Dock

RGB features will easily set you back £130-150+ especially for a full-sized keyboard.

You can't go wrong with Ducky or Corsairs. If you want the flexibility of being able to customize your keycaps in the future then I recommend going with Ducky since their key layout is standard. Seems like your heart is already set on the Logitech G910 but that's £150, just for the keyboard. You will have to make some comprises if you want everything within your budget.

Thanks mate I will do some research and think about what you've recommended.

Do you have an opinion on the Logitech keyboard.

I hate bells and whistles. Heck even RGB would add a layer of stress to me because if one LED goes out, my OCD will shoot through the roof. I think the extra costs going to something like that Logitech G910 could be better placed elsewhere such as a better mouse, headset or desktop speakers.

Also, I've read that the LCD's and stats on these screens/phone do not always work. Not all games will support them and even then it can still be buggy. The G910 also have contours on their keycaps. If you want to go for this keyboard I highly suggest trying it first because you may or maynot appreciate the non-flat keycap shape.

There's an angular contour that goes around the top of each keycap:

Well am I glad I asked your opinion - I don't know if I would like those keys :(

Am selling my recently bought bundle on eBay if your interested, corsair Rgb M65 Mouse and K70 mx cherry blue keyboard, though just want to clarify if I am allowed to post the item number, or il pm you

+1 for corsair keyboards, built like a tank. I have K70 (RGB) and whilst the lighting software was mental at release, its much better now. You can't go wrong with the K70 matey
