I want to use this in a FB update but having GF issues at the moment means she'll read something into it that isn't there. So rather than have the agro of trying to explain it's nothing to do with her... I'll post it here instead.

Must admit though it is quite close to the truth. (She has a cob on over buying a car she wanted but can't afford and is now sulking like a spoilt child over it)!

Ugh, I've grown to despise stupid truisms like that. Yeah, it's catchy, but it's a banal platitude someone has written to make themselves look deep and clever. The truth is, reality is never simple enough to be captured in a cheap witticism like that.

It never moves. Although, point of interest, it is actually still in commission by the Royal Navy. I believe it's the flagship of the second sea lord or something. That makes it the oldest warship in the world still in commission. I don't believe it's maintained to sea worthiness levels though.
