There is a reason for that. The Daewoo Nexia was actually the original design for the Mk3 Astra before Vauxhall/Opel decided to switch to the horrible bubble look that made the Astra look like a bigger Corsa.

The original design ended up with Daewoo who put it into production as the Nexia.

Many of the Mk2 Astra parts will fit a Nexia perfectly, even the damn windscreen. More interestingly all the Vauxhall engines that will fit an Astra will fit a Nexia, this includes the V6 from the Cavalier.

I used to know of a guy who had bought a Nexia (Only Group 4 insurance) on an L plate, fitted Mk2 Astra bumpers and light clusters and those silly plastic air vents and badged it as a Vauxhall Astra and dropped 2 litre (redtop?) engine in there and still found it much cheaper to insure than an Astra with the same mods because, well, Daewoos are considered to be Korean crap driven by old people.

Only problem was he kept getting pulled over by Police who thought it was actually a Mk2 Astra on an L plate and therefore a fake reg since I don't think the Mk2 ever went beyond a J plate.

The Mazda 121 shape was purchased from Ford to use hence seeing occasional cars that look like fiesta's...but aren't...just.

That's a Daewoo Nexia and that Fiesta is in fact a genuine Mazda 121 :p
