Behold the US Marine Corps Assault Breacher vehicle, currently leading the offensice on Nadi Ali and Lashkar Gah districts of Helmand Province, Afghanistan known as Operation Moshtarak.
It's basically an M-1 Abrams hull massively up-armoured and modified with a plough that scours the earth ahead of it to a depth of 14 inches, unearthing IED's and cutting command wires to those it doesn't directly dig up. The blocks you can see on the front of the vehicle are reactive armour, boxes of explosive that detonate when penetrated by a HEAT warhead, such as an RPG round, deflecting the blast and protecting the vehicle beneath.
It also has another trick up it's sleeve, a linear demolition charge known as the puff-adder. An explosive filled hose that's projected in front of the vehicle by a rocket motor. Once laid it's remotely detonated by the vehicle's crew, clearing a lane of IED's and sending a massive sheet of flame upwards.
