Works both ways. They wrote "is" because he was doing it in real time and they turned the topic onto him, and showed the video of him doing it as of that time.
If they wrote addressing, then that would mean he was in picture. And that it wasn't current - or in real time. They would have just shown his picture and said that he's doing it.
If they wrote addressed that means he had done it.
