So today I had to reinstall my work laptop.

All that's on there from MS is XP SP3, Visual Studio 2008 SP1, Office 2007 SP2 and IE7 (yeah I know, at least it's not IE6)

All the service packs were installed offline, so just a quick trip to Windows Update to finish off the job, right?
