I have not had a decent tip for absolutely AGES :( Always been curious, what weight limit do you run? Our Sprinters and I would guess the newer Iveco's are 860kg. Were not really supposed to unload in the street, all the doors were put on the nearside in an effort to get us to unload "safely." Trouble is the routing is thick and takes no account for what side of the road the addresses are leaving us with no choice at some places.

I couldn't tell you, I suppose it would be the same as you so the vehicles aren't classed as trucks or whatever meaning we'd need to get a new license. We run Sprinters and terrible VWs.
Aye, I've seen a few of your guys unloading in the street and it's far from ideal.
I take it taking tips is also a sackable offence for you eh? ;) Some days are good, others are rubbish. It's a handy little extra, pays for lunch and a few snacks on the round usually.
How many drops is on your typical run? We probably do 8-10.

Drop wise it depends where you are, if your in Norwich all day your looking at 14-15 per run so anything upto 30 a day if your unlucky. Out in the sticks the amount of stuff people order goes up so 12 is probably the norm on a single run. We normally hit our weight limit before we run out of space in the van for more crap.

Seem to do more than us. We probably have the highest concentration of people of all the shops in Glasgow (being we do the city centre). No idea if the weight limit even comes into consideration tbh... We haven't got any weighing facilities and I'm not aware that the order weights are calculated, at least it doesn't say anything on the paperwork or the computer system I use.

Tasty Beer

All our weights are calculated by our routing system, basically has a weight for each item we sell and goes from there. Our paper work has a total weight and then each orders weight, anymore than 860kg and the van would be over its GVW of 3.5T.

Just had this little pip-squeak come wandering past. Thats TWICE today and twice I have not seized the chance to make some witty remark at him.
