If I ignore the millions of doubts and questions I have about the politics of the war in Afghanistan and focus just on the fact there are soldiers there doing their jobs and following orders this picture is amazing..

US Army Ranger, half blown up, in intensive care and thought to be unconscious saluting a senior officer awarding him with a purple heart.. it's this sort of thing that I can't fail to respect regardless as I say whether I agree with why they're there in the first place or not.
