Hi all,

We have been having a massive argument in the office this morning since 8am about the following:

Is the human body perfectly symetrical? IE: are both your legs EXACTLY the same length?

My argument is that it cannot be EXACTLY, ie: down to the half of a mill.

What do people think? :D

It's well known that most people have limbs of different length  Definitely not symmetrical. Your face is a good example of asymmetry - try photochopping and duplicating/flipping one half over and see how different you look.

No, it's not perfectly symmetrical.
In fact I know a couple of people who have to have special shoes as one leg is significantly shorter than the other.

No it isn't - and the best way to illustrate this, is by looking at your testicles.

Just take a hold of your ********, any man with evenly sized plums is the devil child.

DONT SWEAR

No it's not, but then no circle is perfectly round either.

For all intents and purposes the human body is symmetrical to within a certain degree.

I've always been taught that that particular word is a swearword.

I guess it's deemed acceptable based on the search I just ran.

But you wouldn't exactly use it in polite conversation, and I doubt you'd stand for your kids using it either, which I thought the whole idea of the swearing ban was based around.

Our outer physiology is symmetrical within tolerance. We have a central line, with equal body parts either side, but it's not perfect symmetry at all.

Our internal organs aren't really that symmetrical either, your digestion system for instance.

I'm sure my right leg is shorter than my left. Did they do a 'world's best looking woman' documentary a few years ago? The most beautiful woman in the world was completely symmetrical, half brown, half India lass. So technically, some people are symmetrical...

No she wasn't. She just appeared to be to the casual observer.

How the hell can somebody be completely symmetrical?

They may appear symmetrical on the outside to the human eye, but if she was totally symmetrical, she'd probably be dead.
