Ok, yep this is a "spec me" thread ...

Currently I have a 4.5 year old Hotpoint FFA90 fridge freezer this has been running generally fine for all that time. The big problem with it is the amount of noise it makes and Googling around this seems to be a particular issue with this model. I've also had a few issues recently with it warming up at random so it's been decided that a new unit maybe in order.

Requirements are
- not to noisy
- standard width normal fridge freezer
- reasonably large fridge and freezer compartments
- not to expensive, (preferably <500)
- reliable

Any thoughtd/experiences?

Currys maybe could be your answer, me and the missus just got our Fridge/Freezer from here, pretty cheap n all.

it's "too" not "to"

contact hotpoint about it?

If you keep up the grammer nazi it`s "bleed" not "bledd" is what will happen to you!
About the fridge/freezer if you find the grill at the bottom were it sucks in air, take this off and hoover it out should sort the over heating out(usually)

It would have to be really loud if that's the only reason why you would want to replace it, either that or you have the cash I assume.

I went in Currys and Comet and had a look around - its the only way you will know how big the compartments are.

get the codes from the ones you see and then look on line for best price.

well i spent quite a few hours looking for the new one i got last week but had these on my short list if they any help to you which all got good reviews on various site and seemed the pick of the bunch to me price wise and value, prices may have changed now though but you think pc stuff has too much choice the amount of fridge freezers is phenominal lol.
In the end i went for the hotpoint FF47MX which i found for a bargain £384 + P+P which went up another £100 last week so well chuffed with it.
My main criteria was a steel looking although white wasnt discounted if the spec and price was good, twin thermostat and frost free and bigger than the old hoover one we had which was freezing food in the fridge section :o lol.

LG GR419BSCA ssteel 390

Bosch KGH34X43 412 ssteel 375 white

Bosch KGN34X61GB 410

bosch KGN34A00GB 430 white logixx

bosch KGN34A60GB 500

WHIRLPOOL ARC7518IS SILVER 410

Hotpoint FF4DK/x 455 black was too big but awesome size

Hotpoint FF47MX £384 now a lot more expensive ssteel 70cm wide what i got in the end.

Non of them float your boat? then head over to www.whiteboxdeals.co.uk good appliance bargain search tool which is just for appliances so no worrys about competitor links etc etc.

good luck.

nah, it's bledd

I would highly recommend Bosch white goods. There's not many companies that build them to last anymore, but Bosch is defianitly one of the better brands.

Yep Siemens or Bosch.

Last Siemens fridge freezer we had lasted about 12+ years.

This is the new one the parents have, SIEMENS KA58NP90GB. Its awesome - for a fridge.

Seconded. Bosch are no better than the rest of the players these days.

Bosch are waaaaaaaaay above anything that comes out of the Indesit plant (Indesit, Creda, Hotpoint, Ariston etc).
I attended that many quality meetings where Indesit wanted to have the quality of Bosch but always failed because of cheap parts.
