My mate bought a new gcard a 6800GS, but it refuses to work with the computer the whole computer just will not power up, althought it does power up with a AGP card in, ive tried the card in another computer and same results, ive had a close look at the card and noticed something that looks a bit odd im no expert so i thoguht id let yous have a look, is this normal?

im no expert but i had a chip thing like that on my motherboard and it had a hole in it when i blew up my motherboard from overclocking and it set on fire.. so it doesnt look healthy :S
 
You sir are missing a transistor!!! - its come off!! Think its called a transistor anyway - its one of the purple and silver cylinders that stick up - it wont work without it - send it back.
 
Yeah you're right does look like the component is naffed...
