Frightday Six: The Mystery of Elisa Lam

Looks like she's hallucinating in the video. Probably either due to her mental illness or drugs as ShortWarning suggested. I'd go with the former. Very creepy story though.

anyone not find that video that odd
She looks closely makes a selection then stands in the corner (not cowering at all just a natural stand) doors don't close, so she makes some more selections hopping to kickstart it, then she stands outside. For a while and the doors finally close. With a bit of odd looking and in out thrown in the mix, could be bored or anything (maybe she thought she broke the lift). People do strange things like that all the time, she doesn't look like she's in a rush, like being chased.

Still great post and interesting.

I didn't really take much notice of the video. It could be edited to ****, is it even from the hotel in fact? Could be anything.

There's something about those hand movements though that just isn't normal, can't put my finger on it.

There is odd things about her movement, like why if you hear something out the lift would you pop your head out like at 24 secs or the little half hop thing when exiting the lift at 52 secs. After that you are right it just looks like she is trying to get the lift moving though the hand movements around the 2 min mark are strange, unless it is some very weird dancing.

Ignoring how she got in the tank for now, if you ended up in a similar tank which is too deep to stand in would you not die from exhaustion? which I assume if you are in water would lead to you drowning.

Thanks for posting that, read through your others as well and enjoyed them.

I was searching for some extra info and found another site that had a little strange bit of added info:

"Shortly after the discovery of Elisa Lam’s body, a deadly outbreak of tuberculosis occurred in Skid Row, near Cecil Hotel. You probably won’t believe the name of the test kit used in these kinds of situations: LAM-ELISA. That is hardcore synchronicity."

Always love a mystery, it reminds me of a Interactive CDROM i got years ago called "Weird" which had all sorts of odd paranormal and mysterious things to read about.
Must try it again on VirtualBox.

Very spooky but it seems from video that she was suffering from some kind of psychotic episode or a drug induced hysteria. That plus her manic depression probably caused her to commit suicide albeit in an unusual way.

That's my keyboard detective conclusion.

Stars!

I read the tuberculosis link too, but didn't have time to fully write that up - bit of a weird coincidence! This is why CTs have a field day with this kind of event.

It would be useful to know what stage of the Bipolar cycle she was at, and whether she suffered severely from this. If she was unmedicated for it at the time, this weird behaviour could have been caused by psychosis in mania. It looks to me like the behaviour of an LSD user, but psychosis is able to do similar things that LSD does to people.
